For those people who would like to experience the history and culture of Valentia Island and the nearby Skellig Michael in an indoor environment then the Skellig Experience is for you. In the centre's auditorium you can experience an audio visual presentation in which you can follow in the footsteps of the Skellig monks. The centre also houses a number of models and recreations of some of the buildings on the rock. There is also some content on the lighthouse and other artefacts relating to Valentia Island housed in the centre.

An entrance fee is payable at the centre and if you can’t for whatever reason view the various sights in the neighbourhood directly then the centre is worth a visit.
