The Kerry Geopark is a territory of 5000 square kilometres encompassing the communities of Tahilla, Sneem, Castlecove, Kells, Ballinskelligs, Dromid, Waterville, Portmagee and Valentia Island. The Geopark concept is to raise awareness of the geological heritage.

William Melville, a native of Sneem, was the original 'M' in the British Secret Service, on which the James Bond movies were based. There is a great display of items and information about him in the Geopark information centre in the Square.
