Valentia Island, also spelled Valencia Island, is one of Ireland's westernmost points

Valentia Lighthouse or Cromwell Point Lighthouse. Valentia was the eastern terminus of the first commercially viable transatlantic telegraph cable.

Valentia Slate is quarried on the northern part of the island. Valentia Quarry opened in 1816 and still flourishes today.
